Rode to work this morning and got my first middle finger from a driver!!!
I was riding in my lane and swerved out a little bit to avoid potholes and such, and this freakin' silver Lexus (what else?) blared his horn behind me ('cos I was in his way). I signaled him to the other lane and he comes flying by close to me (I think he even deliberately drove close to the curb to try to scare me).
I signaled that I am getting down his license plate number (doing the 2 finger eyeball thing) and he flipped me the bird. Ha ha ha...what an idiot.
He stopped at the light, and i just pulled up and ignored him. Oh the sweet joy.
Just in case you guys run into this idiot, his license plate is EK 6263, big honking silver Lexus.
The other day, I was riding along King's Road, in Fortress Hill, when a taxi pulled into the side of the road to drop his customer ¡V right into the space that I already occupied!! I was doing a regular 12 mph; he was driving at safe speed; visibility was good. It was impossible that he didn¡¦t see me ¡V rather he seemed to simply ignore me. Perhaps he thought I would evaporate if he drove through me!!
When he had stopped, I pulled in front of him and argued with him, including banging my hand on his bonnet. I then called the police.
The police were concerned about my touching his car and offered that if I apologised to the driver for that, it could all be forgotten. I refused to accept this, and so they did give him a stern warning. I insisted that my case be taken forward, ie. by the police Accident Investigation Unit. (The trouble is, I have no witnesses. That is often a problem)
The taxi was KD4099. Driver: Li Sui Sang.
I've got other cases waiting for follow up by the police too.
I am gathering information about the complaints procedures with Police, Transport Complaints Unit (of the Transport Dept) and bus companies. I'll post it soon.
But - importantly - if a driver is to be prosecuted, the police must issue the 'Notice to Prosecute' within 14 DAYS of the incident. So the best thing is to call the Traffic Police immediately (or soon afterwards, or go to a police station)
