There are also criticism in the SCMP about the slow/non-progress in constructing the cycling tracks that have been talked about for a long time.

The plan for cycling track as reported in Chinese newspapers:-


新 單 車 徑 貫 通 新 界 東 與 西

【 本 報 訊 】 在 可 見 的 未 來 ， 市 民 將 可 從 新
界 東 的 西 貢 騎 單 車 前 往 新 界 西 的 流 浮 山 。
土 木 工 程 拓 展 署 的 新 界 單 車 徑 網 絡 可 行 性
研 究 ， 建 議 在 西 貢 市 中 心 興 建 單 車 徑 ， 連
接 馬 鞍 山 和 西 貢 萬 宜 水 庫 現 有 的 單 車 徑 。
沿 途 加 建 設 施

當 局 呈 交 西 貢 區 議 會 的 文 件 顯 示 ， 土 木 工
程 拓 展 署 計 劃 在 西 貢 興 建 兩 條 單 車 徑 ， 一
段 由 水 浪 窩 開 始 ， 沿 西 沙 路 至 黃 竹 灣 ， 再
轉 入 大 網 仔 路 直 達 西 貢 公 眾 碼 頭 。 另 一 段
則 由 黃 竹 灣 開 始 ， 沿 大 網 仔 路 經 斬 竹 灣 至
北 潭 涌 ， 然 後 沿 西 貢 萬 宜 路 經 西 壩 、 糧 船
灣 ， 以 萬 宜 水 庫 東 壩 為 終 點 。
單 車 徑 闊 三 點 五 公 尺 ， 沿 途 會 加 設 合 中 心
、 休 息 處 、 停 泊 處 、 方 向 指 示 牌 及 洗 手 間
等 設 施 。 當 單 車 徑 落 成 之 後 ， 新 界 將 會 出
現 一 個 連 續 的 新 界 單 車 網 絡 ， 市 民 就 可 以
從 西 貢 騎 單 車 遠 征 元 朗 流 浮 山 。
