I am a road biker and moving to Hong Kong for business. Can someone fill me in on road biking in HK...where to do it , where not to. Will I be able to train riding in HK or will I have to head to another part of the country to ride?? What clubs or rides can I join. Any Serotta owners out there? Thanks
Welcome to Hk. Most cycling is in the new territories.
Our club has a few rides organised throughout the year.
The Tues and Thurs 'night rides' still occur on an ad hoc basis. There used to be 10-15 people on each ride, but this has dwindled to 2-6 and is sometimes cancelled. Phone in advance if interested.

The answer is Yes and No.
It is "Yes" because basically you could ride on any roads apart from all highways, tunnels, flyovers, certain restricted sections such as the roads within Man Yee Reservoir, Sai Sa Road on Sundays and public holidays, and the 400m long slope near Tai Mei Tuk, and roads where cycle paths form part of the roads (which to us mean cycle paths run next to the roads).
It is "No" because all of the roads are less than ideal for cycling. Most of the roads are busy and narrow, and most drivers are not too patient to share the roads with cyclists.
Here in Hong Kong we have shops selling Merlin, Litespeed and Seven, but none for Serotta, so it must be very rare if any does exist at all.
